Cottons Point Senior Apartments

Our seniors mural took Gold Ribbon (First Place) at the art show during the Senior Olympics.

Cotton’s Point is a beautiful new facility in south San Clemente geared for to seniors who want to live in a creative, community environment where they can expand their knowledge and continue to grow. Jennifer Fallon, the Activities Director at the facility reached out to us a few months ago about coming to teach class to residents there. Jenn is seriously one of the most genuine, transparent, lovely humans on the planet. She works at the site through an organization called EngAGE. In a nutshell this non-profit works hand in hand with the State, Meta and other organizations to bring programming and opportunity to seniors who desire to continue growing intellectually, creatively and emotionally. The facilities they work with provide programming that focuses on the combination of mind, body and spirit to promote active engagement and independent living… help provide the seniors with a renewed purpose in life. We would invite you to check out their website:

Sandy and I were super excited about the prospect of working with the seniors and providing them with perhaps another way of expression, soooooo…we proposed a series of classes instead of just one, culminating in the creation of a mural using the art works created by the participating seniors. BAMM! Little did we know that we had a class full of creative, enthusiastic genius! It was so much fun. We are the process of assembling the mural and on September 24th it will be entered into an Art Show. The show will be part of the Senior Olympics being held at Cerritos Park East. After the Olympics the mural will be brought back to Cotton’s Point and permanently installed at the Entry Breezeway! This has been such a gratifying experience for all…we hope to be invited back to do more creating with the artists there.
